Residence Inn by Marriott Houston Northwest/Cypress

The door frame in our room had a noticeable gap, large enough that it seemed a simple tool or hanger could open the door. That felt unsafe and needs prompt repair. In Room 408, we also saw several small cockroaches in the larval stage coming in and out of the wall behind the toilet, multiple times during our stay. We checked out on November 3rd. The spacious rooms and staff were appreciated, and the Marriott Residence Inn in Cypress, Texas, was otherwise comfortable. The rooms were clean, in good condition, and thoughtfully stocked with useful details like dish soap and utensils. Housekeeping did an excellent job. Still, there were no luggage racks, so we had to put our suitcases directly on the carpet, which was inconvenient and unsanitary, and made our belongings uncomfortable to access. These issues took away from what could have been a perfect stay. I hope management addresses them soon, since the property has great potential. — L. Santiago

The pet fee was pretty high at $150, when it typically runs about $25-$75, though the hotel is pet friendly. We were passing through to see family nearby. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, and the rooms comfortable. Breakfast was good, better than I expected from the reviews. Not a bad stay, and I’d recommend it.

The indoor pool was great, though a little cold. Once you’re swimming, you get over it. Suzu and Stephan were wonderful about changing our rooms, and the place was roomy with a great breakfast. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Residence Inn was a great place to stay.

We had two queen beds and a full kitchen in a clean, comfortable place. The service was excellent, and breakfast had a great variety of options. A great place to stay, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a Houston, Texas vacation.
