I was in the room for about 15 minutes. The walls, curtains, and bedspread were dirty. I checked beneath the sheets and mattress for bed bugs and didn’t find any, then went to the bathroom. When I came out, I saw a roach and took my things straight to the front desk to ask for a refund. They refused because I’d used the bathroom and the bedspread was wrinkled from my bug check. What a waste of money. The place was filthy, and the marks on the walls made it look like a crime scene.

The deposit is my biggest complaint. They told me the room was $72.80 plus a $50 damage deposit that would be returned at checkout. Instead, they charged $122.80 to my card and kept the $50, even though there was no damage or smoking. When I asked about it, they said I’d authorized the full amount and hung up on me. I’ve stayed here several times while traveling through Indiana, but I won’t bring them my business again. I used to think they were honest, and the location was convenient. The owners were rude and didn’t seem to care about losing a repeat customer. I’ve overlooked plenty because of that location: the beds are horrible, the towels are old, ripped, and barely dry one person, the room is only semi-clean, and the pillows shouldn’t be called pillows. This time there was a used tube of Fixadent in my bed, and my spouse got hives from the little bites she had. Check the bed and furniture for bed bugs, and check that your $50 deposit is returned. If you don’t mind losing the money, this may be your place.

We arrived around 3 a.m. Saturday, in town unexpectedly for a family emergency, and hadn’t realized it was race weekend. Everywhere else we found was either booked or asking $400-500 a night. After searching for a while, we found this little gem. It isn’t the most updated place, but it was extremely clean, cleaner than any Marriott or luxury hotel I’ve stayed in. You can tell they take pride in it. We’ll stay here when we come back. Thanks, y’all!

The room was clean and had a decent-sized TV, fridge, and microwave. There’s no coffee maker, and the shower has good pressure, though the drain can’t keep up. A gas station is within walking distance. It’s right beside the highway, so expect noise.
