A $50 deposit is required, and checkout takes 15-20 minutes because they inspect the room. The lobby is closed, so you deal with the manager through a glass window. Reservations through the third-party service can be hit or miss. It’s a very basic, budget motel in Daleville, AL. Cleanliness is poor: the carpet and sheets were questionable, there was trash under the beds, and I saw signs of mice. Some appliances don’t work, and the door felt insecure. There’s no laundry, and you have to exchange towels at the lobby. Pets are allowed for an extra $10 a night; I don’t believe there are breed restrictions. I had one dog and it caused no problems. The bed was comfortable, the toilet worked despite wobbling, and the temperature controls were strong.

I booked without knowing what it was like. I walked into the room, saw roaches everywhere, and left. The night staff knew I hadn’t stayed, but told the owners that I had and that there were no issues. When I showed him the roach photos, he turned his head. He knew. I got my $50 deposit back at the front desk, but they refused to let Expedia refund the rest of my money. The rooms smelled awful, like death, and the “New Rooms” sign is a joke. It was the worst motel I’ve seen. OYO is a dump and should be condemned. Don’t stay here.

We only chose this place because a bad storm had filled every other hotel in the area and it was late, after we’d been on the road all day. I had a couple of children with me, and they hated the room as soon as I opened the door. I knew it wasn’t going to be a three-star place, but I expected clean bed linen at least. One pillowcase had a blood stain and the fitted sheet had dark marks. There was a strange, foul smell, and the toilet seat was coming loose. We didn’t enjoy the stay at all.

The pictures online were nowhere close to what the place actually looked like. The microwave didn’t work, and they refused to bring a replacement. The refrigerator door wouldn’t shut, and you could see through the bathroom ceiling. The man was so mean to my mother. This place should be closed.
