We were driving from Nevada to New York and just needed a quick night’s rest. I called at 9 pm, and the desk confirmed rooms were available. We booked for two adults, one child, and two dogs, and paid the room charge plus $30 for the dogs. We planned to sleep, shower, and leave well before checkout. Around 11, we locked and chained the door and went to sleep. At about 2 am, a man slammed it open and woke me in a panic. The chain stopped him from walking right in, and our dogs ran toward the door. I called the desk right away. The woman working apologized and took responsibility, explaining she hadn’t known the room was occupied, had booked it for someone else, and given him a key. I told her I understood, but we’d come to sleep and were now awake and scared. I asked for a refund, and she agreed. None of us could get back to sleep. We tried to rest, showered, and left around 7. The room was dated and smelled bad, the floor was filthy, the dining chairs wobbled, and the shower had no finish on the bottom with the faucet hanging out of the wall. Getting in and out of the hotel was a nightmare because of traffic. The price was higher than advertised, $142 for one night in a complete dump. Skip it, and if there’s a problem, expect no help and a runaround from the front desk. My mobile banking showed a charge on 5/29 and another on 5/30. No refund had been issued. When I called, the man at the desk said he had no record of us staying there. My bank statement and our sleepless night say otherwise. Update: they refunded me, then charged me again. After nearly a week and several calls with the front desk and my bank, the charges were finally straightened out.

We stopped around 4 am on our way back from Colorado at Thanksgiving, needing a few hours’ sleep before continuing a 12-hour drive with our one-year-old. The remaining drive was six hours. The location was handy, right off the main road, and we got some sleep before heading out again. The stay was okay, but not somewhere we’d normally choose. It was a bit dirty, the door wouldn’t lock, and the bed had just a blanket instead of a proper comforter. We weren’t expecting our usual standards at that hour, but for the price we paid, about $80 despite the stay being listed much cheaper, we would’ve preferred more.

Bianca assured me over the phone that the price was reasonable, and the hotel was right on my route, without even a side street detour. I was tired and getting in late before reaching Amarillo, and needed somewhere affordable. The room was good, and the security cameras around the property made me feel okay about leaving my car parked there. Thanks, Bianca. I’ll stop in again when I’m passing through.

The front desk service was great, and the beds were comfortable. Still, the hotel is old and needs remodeling, and our room’s floor was dirty overall. We also found bugs in the room.

The heater didn’t work with 40 degrees outside, and the place was dirty and smelled bad. The TV was broken, and the hotel sits right beside a train track that runs all night. It’s also close to cattle feed lots. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in.
