Element by Marriott Dallas Downtown East

There aren’t many good full-service restaurants within walking distance, and you’ll need to drive for shopping and better dining. They also charge for parking despite having a large, mostly empty lot. The weekday drinks and snacks were disappointing, with very few snacks, just six beers, and limited wine for all the guests. Staff seemed distracted, and at breakfast it was hard to find someone to help. The Marriott hotel is clean and well kept, near Baylor Med Dallas. Rooms are reasonable and the beds comfortable, though they’re just okay. There are showers, no tubs. It’s an acceptable stay, but nothing special.

I had a booking issue because I hadn’t been added to the family reservation, and Brandon at the front desk quickly explained what I needed to do and helped get it sorted. Before I reached him, another customer was yelling at him, seemingly without much reason. He stayed calm and gracious, and treated me just as well. As a retail manager, I appreciated seeing that. The rooms are clean, and the breakfast area on the second floor has a clean, pleasant patio. It’s also a nice place to get some work done on the fly.

MRS TAM at the front desk is a huge asset to MARRIOTT. I could stay anywhere in Dallas, but I choose this place because of how well she looks after guests and makes the experience so good. The property is wonderful too, always clean, with a great gym, a lovely breakfast, nice views, and a convenient location close to everything. I’ve sent lots of family, friends, clients, and classmates here.

The location is really good, but I can’t say much about the service since we only stayed one night. We booked two rooms, and the AC kept switching itself on and off in both, including the room my daughter and her friend had. If you need air conditioning for a good night’s sleep, I wouldn’t book here. It was stuffy and too hot, and somehow too quiet to sleep.
