Hampton Inn & Suites Dallas East

The front desk staff were really nice and hospitable, and the cleaning ladies were kind too. I also felt safe parking in front of the building, where the area was nicely lit. We stayed for a weekend at the Dallas stair fair and found the hotel convenient and affordable for getting there. An Uber on Saturday morning cost about $12, and the ride back that night was about the same. Since we're from out of town, that worked much better than driving, paying for fair parking, and driving back. The hotel was decent overall, though the rooms weren't fancy. The complimentary breakfast was good, especially the vanilla and s'mores waffle batter. The women working hard to put out the morning food were appreciated.

The room seemed clean and was nice, but the pool was cloudy enough that you couldn't see the bottom, even though it wasn't even five feet deep. There was a film on the surface and plenty of algae. Something seems wrong with the maintenance or pool chemicals, and it didn't feel safe to swim.

We booked at the last minute, and the price had doubled because of the State Fair and Cotton Bowl game. I was still pleasantly surprised. Everything looked immaculate when we walked in, and the desk clerk was kind and professional. We had a king suite for two nights, and it was spotless, without a speck of dust, spot, or wrinkle. The lobby, dining area, halls, room, and parking lot were all clean. Breakfast was great, and the hotel was convenient for shopping, food, activities, and more. I'm picky, but this gets a 10 out of 10 from me.

The price was great, and the lobby won me over as soon as I walked in. I’d been unsure about the hotel, but it’s a huge lounge with comfy chairs where you can sit and watch the surroundings. My room was lovely, though the view wasn’t anything special. Being right in Downtown Dallas was a real treat. I stayed three nights and everyone at the front desk greeted me with a warm smile that made me feel at home. The person who checked me in explained what I needed to know clearly. Breakfast came with coffee each morning, and it was really good. I liked sitting by the window to watch people go by, usually with two cups.
