Hilton Dallas/Park Cities

We keep coming back to Hilton Dallas/Park Cities, and it’s still neat and tidy. Ash and Beck are top-notch baristas and servers, even when the restaurant and bar are full. Sandra looked after us during a delicious lunch, and Abdul, Cedric, Pascal, Elsa, Dae'lon, and Kabir were all attentive and experienced. The front desk team and valet group are friendly and helpful too. The location is handy for nearby well-known restaurants, The Meadows Museum at SMU, and North Park shopping mall. Thanks for another pleasant stay, as always. We look forward to coming back.

The kitchen and bar staff were the bright spot: friendly, welcoming, and with amazing food and drinks. The rest of check-in was a very poor experience. My room wasn’t ready at the requested time, even though I’d checked in through the app and arrived an hour after the time I’d requested. The woman checking me in was rude and answered a call for another guest in the middle of our interaction without putting it on hold, leaving me confused. She moved me to a different room without saying the accommodations would be different, and didn’t mention my digital key would take a moment to update. A couple of minutes later she yelled my name across the room to hand me a key with a smug look, as if she were doing me a favor. In the bathroom, there was hair in the shower, on the toilet, and on the counter. Disgusting.

I stay here because it’s close to family, but it’s consistently overpriced and dated. The beds are at least fine. Our rooms usually smell moldy or have suspicious stains on the furniture, and there’s an annoying hum across the whole floor that makes it feel like some kind of torture scenario. Staff usually aren’t great, and they charge for everything. Expect to pay at least $40 a day for usable internet speeds or parking your car. This place needs to be torn down and rebuilt. You’d think the neighborhood would have higher standards.

The valet folks are nice and hustle to keep things moving, and they’re fairly prompt getting cars in and out. Parking is $46 a night, with in-and-out included. The hotel rooms, though, are old and worn. Lighting is dank and dingy: the bathroom throws a shadow on your face when you lean in, making makeup a problem; the full-length mirror’s overhead spotlight doesn’t show outfit details well; and the desk lamp is about 40 watts, not enough for viewing. The restaurant menu is limited, and table service at both breakfast and lunch was painfully slow. I had to get my bill from the bartender, who had to fetch our waitress from the back. It’s fine for a leisurely meal, not a quick bite. There’s a safe, fridge, and coffee service, but no microwave, so don’t plan on heating soup.
