Kasa Highland Park Dallas

The rooms were immaculate, and the neighborhood was calm and quiet. I felt secure there. Getting checked in and parked took more steps than at other hotels, so read their emails before arriving. Our assigned elevator was out, and the stairwell entrances were under construction. Someone helped us find another way through, though the text with updated directions didn’t arrive until several hours later.

The one-bedroom apartment at Kasa Highland Park Dallas was clean, well equipped, and much roomier than a hotel room. The building was quiet, and it’s close to SMU, with restaurants and bars nearby. Check-in and checkout were straightforward by text, including the door codes. Just know this setup uses a virtual front desk, without the usual hotel amenities or staff. I had a great stay at Kasa.

The building elevators were the one snag. Several weren’t working, and a friend staying in another unit had trouble finding their way on the first night. Kasa support texted more information, and it all worked out. The units were well stocked, and the instructions for parking and entering the building were clear. Great experience, and I’d highly recommend it.

I booked two nights for a business trip but left for another hotel instead. The apartment itself had good furnishings, though they were worn, and the carpet was old and stained. There was a strong stale smoke smell throughout, masked by air freshener. I worried my clothes would smell before my meetings, so I called customer service, said I couldn’t stay, and asked to cancel. The building was dark, and the elevators smelled like marijuana too. I found a nearby hotel before a business dinner. At 2AM (!!), Kasa offered to rebook me at another property, which I declined. Even after I repeatedly asked for a refund because the accommodations were unsuitable, they refused to refund one night, saying my request was outside their cancellation policy. They may not control room quality, but I shouldn’t have to pay for their mistake. I’d never book with Kasa again.
