Tropicana Inn and Suites

The rooms are spacious, and the staff leaves people alone. The heating and A/C work. But the towels look and smell a little unsanitary, the Wi-Fi is garbage and very inconsistent, and there are roaches.

Don’t expect much. It’s a coin toss whether the fridge works or freezes everything, and you may have to switch rooms to get one that works. The Wi-Fi is useless except maybe early in the morning.

Getting in and out was hard, and even finding the place was difficult. I booked the jacuzzi suite, but it was dirty from the start and smelled of mildew and cigarettes. The jacuzzi didn’t work, and I couldn’t get anyone at the desk to help. I decided to leave early, but when I finally got a desk person, he stalled and then said there’d be no refund or discount. There hadn’t been anyone available to check me out or take my complaint. His solution was to offer me a regular room at the regular rate. What the hell? I paid for something I didn’t get, then got insulted and frustrated on top of it. This was the worst stay anywhere in my 57 years. Never again. A rip-off, basically thieves.

The floor had a serious slope, and the dresser drawer kept sliding open. The mattress was the hardest I’ve ever slept on, so uncomfortable the floor might’ve been softer.
