The gates don't work properly, and there have been several car break-ins, including ours. Packages, even grocery deliveries, often disappear from doorsteps. There's a serious security problem. Laundry facilities are constantly out of order, roaches are widespread because pest control isn't handled properly, and overflowing dumpsters are an eyesore that attract pests and create a health hazard. The maintenance team would show up without notice, sometimes at unscheduled times on multiple occasions. Their loud, disruptive work upset our pets and made it hard to focus. It also disrupted my partner's work-from-home meetings and calls, and the lack of notice about repairs caused stress. When a leak from our unit damaged the one below, the neighbors reported it, but neither the office nor maintenance communicated with us about scheduling repairs. We were then unfairly targeted and harassed by neighbors. We made several maintenance requests, but the office and crew were unprofessional and inefficient. The apartment's A/C was abysmal during the scorching Texas summers, often failing to cool the place. There was always an excuse, and no urgency to fix it. My partner and I were frustrated by the discomfort, and management's neglect of such a basic need really affected our time living here. I'm so relieved to have moved out. If you're looking for a rental, find somewhere else and spare yourself a hot, bug-infested apartment with little security and unprofessional management.

I've been at my Reiger Avenue location for two years. Yard work happens every week without interruption, and I know because dirt and dust get blown into my apartment through the doors and windows. The weather strips and seals are missing. I put in a work order, and it was marked closed without the work being done. Parking's first come, first served here, as it is in many places. Someone parked behind me in a tandem spot and left their car, trapping me. The apartments called it a civil matter and told me to knock on doors to find the owner. I'm not doing that and risking getting shot. The towing sign is there, but the tow company said they have no contract with the property and won't come. I missed a day of work, which annoyed me most. Trash pickup is what you'd expect, but why face the back of the dumpster toward the gate? People aren't going to climb in to throw their trash away, so someone's making things harder for everyone. Maintenance needs improvement. I've put in several work orders, been told to handle this or that, and had nothing repaired, while the records say the jobs were completed. For example, I reported my broken microwave on the 12th. The next day I was told a technician had been contacted and would get in touch. I waited all day on the 16th, since nobody works on weekends, but no one came or called. Then the portal showed the job had been completed the day before. Why ask us to choose a time if no one shows up? Getting a person at the listed phone number is nearly impossible. Calling the State Gov might be easier. The answering service staff are very nice and reasonable, though. They have a text number too, but it's been six hours since I sent my message. Overall, people are kind, but it's tough getting maintenance done or reaching anyone. Feel free to ask me anything else.

Since joining the property owned by Davis RE, LLC back in October 2019, I've felt at home. Historic Old East Dallas has a warmth and charm that's hard to explain. Kelly and I talk every day and brainstorm ways to make our communities better. The owner and staff have shown compassion and drive in an industry that can be challenging. I looked up the last reviewer's name and couldn't find it in our software as someone who'd lived here. Still, I want to apologize for any bad experience she may have had. I hope she'll contact us so we can understand what happened and learn how we could have handled it better.

I spent three years here and had nothing but problems and misunderstandings with the office staff. It got bad enough that I broke my lease to get out. This is the most disorganized, under-the-table apartment community, and they deserve no stars from me. They keep changing the management. First they got rid of Kelly and brought in an even worse manager, Connie. Bad place overall. Don’t MOVE HERE!
