Residence Inn by Marriott Dallas by the Galleria

The housekeeping team did an excellent job, and my room stayed spotless throughout the six nights I was there. Unfortunately, the front desk problems overshadowed what could have been a good stay. The property needs to get its elite recognition and communication together. They use one service desk for both the Residence Inn and AC Hotel, but the staff didn’t seem trained on the different brand policies. As a Titanium Elite guest, I was told at check-in I’d get a 10$ market coupon each day. On day three, another associate said it was one free market item per night. At checkout, I was then told it was only one free market item at check-in. Three different explanations in less than a week. I was also charged for items I’d initially been told were complimentary. I called multiple times trying to reach a manager, but no one returned my calls. That lack of consistency and accountability is unacceptable for a Marriott property. Titanium Elite members, or any guest, shouldn’t be given the runaround.

The pool was only cleaned on our last day, after we’d been there four days. My room smelled like wet dogs, had mold in the shower, torn carpet in places, likely from a dog, and the toilet kept backing up. The HVAC sounded like a 767 overhead. I called the desk to report the room hadn’t been cleaned and there were no fresh towels, but the clerk was rude and unhelpful. At breakfast, the milk dated 3/15 came out in clumps when poured over cereal. I told staff that the 3/15 milk might be bad, and they did nothing, so I took another cereal and a 3/21 milk. As an electrician, I noticed the refrigerator was plugged into an outlet with its cord stretched to the limit, in violation of NEC code. I looked in the panel in the room and it appeared maintenance couldn’t fix the dedicated circuit required for a refrigerator, so they turned off the breaker and used the nearest receptacle. The HVAC duct covers looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. I went to HD and bought Clorox, Frebeeze, a toilet plunger, and 409 to clean the refrigerator.

We booked four rooms for our family and loved our stay at the Residence Inn Galleria. Misty and Thony at the front desk were especially friendly. Everything was perfect, from the ideal location to the clean, spacious rooms. Thanks for a great stay!

Jasmine handled the one issue I had, the room’s fragrance, with a great attitude and excellent customer service. I was moved within four minutes and was able to get into bed. Residence Inn is pet friendly, so there’s a chance you’ll be given a room that recently had a pet. I was traveling with Southern-Soul artist MsKeda for a meet and greet early Friday, so we needed an early check-in. The young woman who handled that did it exceptionally well. I didn’t catch her name, but I’d like to thank her. She also recommended Southern Gourmet Kitchen, just two minutes away, where the food and customer service were great. I work day in and day out in hospitality, and you exceeded the customer service and hospitality skills I value. I loved the experience and will definitely be back.
