SOVA Micro-Room & Social Hotel

The whole team made arranging my surprise birthday party easy, starting with Blake, who helped book the venue. They responded quickly and worked with my requests. I used the lobby area and rented the speak easy. Naiomi (Event Director), Austin, and Kyle were amazing on the day. They absolutely killed it, and our party loved them too. I'd definitely recommend the hotel and venue space.

The rooms have a lot of character, but the real surprise is the speakeasy. Ask about it. I believe it's only open Fri-Sat, and it made for such a fun, unexpected part of the stay. Kyle's cocktails were creative, balanced, and absolutely worth trying. Andrea also made a big difference, from welcoming guests at the front desk to helping at the lobby bar. Her mezcal negroni was great, and her warmth and professionalism made it clear she cares about her work. At Sova Micro Hotel, everything felt stylish and thoughtfully welcoming. I had an incredible stay and will definitely be back.

The location is the one convenient thing here. When the TV in my first room didn't work, they moved me to a much smaller one that didn't have towels. Neither room had windows, and even with the thermostat set to 65, it felt like 80 degrees. There aren't racks for towels or clothes, and there's no laundry room or gym. I wouldn't recommend it unless all you need is somewhere to sleep. I'd much rather have a hotel with breakfast, laundry, more space, windows, and a gym. I regret giving this place a try. I thought it would be cool.

The location worked well: I could walk to the food market, Deep Ellum, and the Art museum, and there were plenty of bus connections. The reception staff were friendly, and the bright, windowless rooms had what I needed. They were small, with a space for luggage under the bed and a few hooks for clothes. The luggage room was handy, too. I had a cosy night in and would return to Dallas and stay here again. The floor was dusty and dirty, though, so I was glad I had my sleepers. The bathroom and bedroom lights would be better with separate controls, and a glass shower panel would keep water from going everywhere. I also missed having a kettle or something to make an evening drink or snack. The walls are thin, and you can hear upstairs and next-door neighbours. My floor was quiet and respectful, but I'd still bring earplugs. The shower also left the floor wet.
