Red Roof Inn Dandridge

It was cheap and convenient, but only just good enough for our one night. We arrived early and were told the room wasn't ready, which was fair. Luckily, there were things nearby to keep my kids entertained while we waited. Once we finally got in, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling, a dirty tub, and a crusty old dead bug on a towel. The water was only hot, and the shower didn't really work, so we couldn't shower. Even though we'd waited for the room to be ready, there were only two towels for our reservation of four. We won't stay again.

The room's main area was passable, and the highway was convenient, but the bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom was a mess: grime, patches all over the walls, worn-off tub finish, dirt caked in the corners, and a door that wouldn't latch. The area wasn't nice, either. It gave us somewhere to sleep for the night, but I wouldn't return.

We'd stayed here before because it was convenient, but after this visit we're done with this filthy place. The room was dirty, and there was a black boot print in front of the bathroom mirror, exactly where the same print had been in this same room a month ago. They don't scrub the bathroom floors. We also found what looked like a bedbug on a pillow. There was no hot water for showers in the morning or evening. We think they have only a 100 gallon tank for all the rooms and are too cheap to upgrade. The towels were small and rough and didn't seem properly washed. There's no excuse for not keeping rooms clean or providing hot water to paying guests. This is America, and a successful business has to meet certain standards.

I kept having to go to the front desk for towels, toilet paper, and basic room cleaning because room service never came. The walls were damaged, and the smoke detector had been torn off. The room smelled strongly of either cockroaches or old cigarettes. My $100 deposit was never returned, even though I’d been quoted $50 over the phone.
