Cambria Hotel Ft Lauderdale, Airport South & Cruise Port

We arrived well after 3 a.m. after a very late flight, and the security guard and woman working the front desk were wonderful. The hotel is staffed all the time, which made us feel safe. They were friendly and accommodating, got us a room right away, and signed us up for the free hotel shuttle to pick up a rental car the next day. I felt at ease immediately. The room was clean and quiet, and the staff continued to be professional and helpful. There’s a lobby bar with hot food available. We chose this place after looking through lots of comparable hotels in the area, and the price was very good for this kind of hotel. Our king room had a sleeping area separate from the sofa and sitting area.

I arrived later than planned to check in, and the two lovely ladies at the front desk, Ms Nisha and Ms Lashandra, made me feel welcome. I was cold, so one of them turned up her heater for me. That’s good customer service, going out of your way for someone staying at your establishment. I appreciate them so much. The stay was fantastic, and we’ll stay there again. Thank you, ladies.

We chose this hotel for its excellent ratings and location near the cruise ship terminals. I didn’t use the port shuttle this time, but would on my next cruise. All of my interactions with staff were positive. It’s a very professional operation.

For a night before a cruise or a flight, it’s an okay place, but I wouldn’t come here for enjoyment. The staff were helpful and nice, and we appreciated being allowed to check in early. Our room was cold in temperature and appearance. My husband is an HVAC technician and couldn’t get it warm, so we turned off the blasting cold air. The hallways were freezing too. They put us in a handicap room, where we couldn’t shower properly as tall adults because it only had a handheld shower hose. The pool and hot tub were cold. My kids can swim in any temperature, but struggled here. The hot tub seemed broken: only two jets worked, and it didn’t warm up. The food wasn’t good. Another guest said they’d found cockroaches in their room. Thankfully, we didn’t see any on the second floor. We ordered a shuttle but weren’t told to be there 15 minutes early. First my husband got attitude from the driver, then the driver left even though we arrived at the allotted time. He did come back, but my teenage son was almost in tears, thinking we’d miss our flight. There isn’t much of interest within walking distance.
