The Northshore Hotel - Boston/Danvers

The bed seemed clean and was fine. The bathroom floor had a lot of different kinds of hair on it, and there was some on the chair and the floor in the main bedroom too. There were splatters on the walls. The location was good.

The property is breathtaking, the best anywhere on Route 1, and the rooms have recently been renovated. I’d give the floors a strong nine. The owner is here several days a week. There’s a room for families, solo travelers, children, or business stays, so I highly recommend it. My one issue is a particular front desk staff member. In the five years I’ve come here for work, I’ve never heard this person greet anyone or ask if they need anything. They aren’t friendly or welcoming, don’t speak nicely, and give one-word yes or no replies. The front desk clerk is the first person guests see, and this person doesn’t make a warm impression. I think they should talk with the owners or consider a role that better suits what they want. I don’t think they’re a good fit for this position.

There are plenty of local places to eat in Danvers and along Route 1, and a grocery store just up the road. The hotel is always clean and accommodating. It's right off Route 1 North, about 15 minutes from Salem and 30 minutes from Boston when traffic is good.

Watch your step going into the room, the first step is a hazard.
