Best Western Plus Daphne Inn & Suites

We really enjoyed our five days here, and the hotel was quiet and clean, with comfortable beds and plenty of restaurants nearby. It’s also close to Pensacola for the beach, and about two hours from New Orleans. The staff were generally very friendly. Willie at the desk was especially sweet and helpful, a real gem. Another front desk employee was polite, but when I asked for towels she asked how long we were staying in a way that made me feel like a bother. Later, when my key cards stopped working, she seemed annoyed again. She came across as having an attitude, and I didn’t care for her. Breakfast was decent, though not great. The daily choices included potatoes, sausage, eggs, oatmeal and grits packets, cereals, assorted breads, waffles, boiled eggs, yogurt, apples, and oranges. The room fridge was a real drawback: it was so small I had to lay a gallon of milk sideways on top, and there was little space beyond water bottles or tiny containers. Families with young children need room for milk and food. The key locks also need replacing, since I had to get my cards reprogrammed repeatedly, as did others. The hotel could use an update, though it’s not badly dated and is well kept. I’d book again because nearby alternatives had poor reviews or cost too much. It’s a clean, quiet stay that won’t break the bank.

For under $100 in the off-season, my wife and I got a beautiful king suite with a really comfortable bed. The breakfast was awesome, and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Amazing value, highly recommend.

We keep coming back because it’s clean and quiet, with lots of restaurants and the interstate fairly close. The front desk staff are friendly, though they’re always very slow.

It was pouring rain, and no one offered an umbrella. When I checked out and asked for water, the desk clerk checked whether I was a member. I said I was, but apparently she needed confirmation, then told me I was too new and the water would cost $1. I’d joined and chosen this hotel, but I left feeling put off. I won’t seek out Best Westerns anymore.
