The advertised room bore little resemblance to what I found, and the stay was highly unsatisfactory. Roaches and other bugs were in the room and around the breakfast items. There were roach traps around the beds, and I could hear pests moving behind the walls and beneath the floorboards. The toilet seat wasn’t bolted to the base, so it was unstable and unusable. Although the hotel advertised a pool, there were no amenities to be found. The charges were another major problem. Booking.com said there were no fees, while the hotel website listed a $50 incidental fee, but I was charged $100. A pet fee was charged every night too, bringing the total for my stay to over $500 instead of the advertised $260. Getting the incidental fee back was frustrating and difficult. Given the conditions, missing advertised amenities, and lack of transparency about fees, I’ll let the photos I took from the top-floor window speak for themselves.

Trash was scattered under the bed, old food was still in the fridge, and there were odd marks on the mirrors and water damage on the walls. Mice were wandering around my room, too. The hallways reeked of cigarettes even after staff tried spraying them, and the air conditioning ran without actually cooling anything. I had to go downstairs for ice because the machines were empty or broken. The pool was so full of trash I picked up a piece every few minutes. The building even seemed to sway when a strong gust hit. It may be cheap, but that didn’t make this a good stay. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We left with our complaints brushed off. After checkout, I had to find the front desk worker, show him photos and videos, and list everything that had gone wrong. He only said he’d tell maintenance. I went back again to ask for his supervisor’s number, waited for him to return from a smoke break, and had to ask twice before he wrote it down. He even gave me specific times to call. It felt like a prank, except it was real. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, especially at this price. Getting a cart to take our luggage out was another hassle because it was coming apart, with screws working loose. Inside, the elevators didn’t work, the room smelled musty, and there were roaches in the bedrooms and bathroom. They were going in and out through the bathroom vent. The toilet seat didn’t fit the bowl, and the shower curtain was moldy and stained. The comforter had strange stains and a bad smell. We couldn’t reach the desk by phone, so my husband had to track down the worker to report that the TV wouldn’t connect to regular cable. He promised to come fix it, but never did. The window AC didn’t work either. At breakfast, the coffee was so thick I thought it was hot chocolate. When my husband asked for milk for his cereal, the worker said there wasn’t any. The kitchen door was open, though, and I saw four gallons that hadn’t expired. We stayed because we were already exhausted, but it was a miserable experience.

The elevator made me feel like it could drop at any moment. The whole place smelled bad and looked filthy, and it really was dirty. I could feel the old mattress springs, the phone had no buttons, and the bathroom curtain was grimy. There seemed to be cigarette ash behind the toilet paper, and the sink, faucet, walls, and other surfaces were stained. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was mold in the building.

The pool had been drained, and breakfast was pretty bleak, with watered-down juice. My bed was hard as a rock on a big metal base that banged loudly whenever someone bumped it, which wasn’t great if someone was trying to sleep. The room window wouldn’t open, the bathroom wasn’t clean, and there was something smeared all over the mirror. Even the towel was dirty and smelled, though it had been folded as if it were clean. The lampshades were wrapped in plastic. Maybe someone traveling alone who doesn’t care about cleanliness or a comfortable bed and just wants a big TV could manage here. I wouldn’t stay.
