Moxy Omaha Downtown

The rooms were cute, the bed was comfortable, and I loved the European feel and adorable decor. We could walk to lots of great places nearby, including Con Azucar, the Mexican coffee shop. After our drive, the welcome drink that comes with the Moxy brand was a lovely surprise and much appreciated. Autumn checked us in and was so lovely, giving us great details about the hotel and the brand. It was Marriott hospitality all the way, and she definitely made us want to stay at Moxy again. We’ll be back to this location on our next Omaha trip.

I was impressed by the cocktails at the cool hotel bar, and the location is great, with lots of good bars and restaurants close by. Even with construction, it was just a 15-minute walk from the Moxy to Charles Schwab Field. I like staying at Moxy hotels when I travel alone because the rooms are a good size for that. They’re on the small side, though, so keep that in mind if you’re traveling as a couple.

The rooms have what you need, a bed, TV, and bathroom, but there isn’t much extra space for a couch or other room to spread out. The service makes up for it. Every employee I dealt with was friendly and helpful, and I liked being able to go downstairs, order a drink, and play games in the inviting lobby. You check in at the bar, and the decor is great. There are lockers on what I think were floors 3-6 with spare blankets and toiletries, and they give you the code at check-in. I could grab an extra pillow without having to find someone. You can valet or use the parking garage across the street. The location is handy for walking around Old Market and Capitol District. The price, location, and service made this one of my favorite stays. I think it’s a hidden gem.

The parking was the only downside: you can pay $40 a day for the ramp across the street, try to find street parking, or use the hotel valet for $20 a day. Road work made the hotel a little hard to reach when we arrived in the evening, through no fault of the hotel. Check-in was easy, and the woman at the desk was friendly and helpful. The lobby was clean and lively, with a few stand-up video game consoles, shuffleboard, and some board games. We liked the room setup, one large open space with a queen bed and a twin bed lofted above it. It was clean, and the beds and pillows were comfortable enough for a couple of nights. The ice machine was easy to find on the second floor once we knew where it was. We wished there were a small fridge in the room, but some rooms have one and some don’t. All in all, we’d stay again.
