The Inn & Suites SW Omaha

The location is the only redeeming part: about a two-minute drive from the interstate, close to gas stations and fast food. I stayed one night while passing through Omaha on the way to Utah to see family, and chose it for the price, so I wasn't expecting much. Still, it was far below what I expected. The whole building smelled of cigarettes, and people were smoking right outside the front door when I left. My room smelled damp and mildewy, was small, and somehow had two sinks and two mismatched computer chairs, leaving no real space for my suitcase or the dogs' beds. The bathroom was very dirty. The free breakfast listing didn't pan out either: there was no food out when I checked around 7 in the morning. Maybe they served it later than other places, but I wouldn't count on breakfast. There are fast food places down the street that might be a better bet. Staff were difficult to deal with. A few days before the stay, I called to ask about pet rates after a last-minute change meant my dogs were coming. The person couldn't find my booking and wouldn't let me spell my name, even though it has an unusual spelling. It should have been a quick question, but the call took ten minutes, and I was told to call again for the manager. I declined because I only needed the one answer. He spoke quietly with a thick accent, which made him hard to understand. At the hotel he was a little nicer than on the phone, but still seemed impatient while I was just trying to check in. I'd avoid staying here unless you're in a pinch. It's cheap, and you get what you pay for.

Super 8 really was a diamond in the rough for me. The place and my room smelled lovely, everything was clean, including the linens, and the king bed was so comfortable. Hot water never ran out, and the bathroom was clean too. The location was convenient, near lots of stores and a short drive from plenty of things to do. I was greeted right away, and the staff were polite and helpful. My stay was the opposite of what some other reviews say. I wasn't disappointed and will definitely be back. Thanks, Super 8!

Nothing was clean, and the customer service was awful. We were charged an extra $20 for a third person who was already on our online reservation. The person at the desk was arguing with another customer when we got our key. Floors looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in weeks, walls were dirty, badly painted, and marked up. The phone was crusty, there was trash behind the TV stand, the filthy alarm clock was on the floor, hairs were between the sheets, the blanket had cigarette burns, and the headboard had grease marks. I wish I'd read the reviews first; it was a nightmare. There was also a camera sitting awkwardly in a hallway window. Dirty and sketchy!

Our first room was over the bar, and the noise was so bad we could barely hear the TV. The second room was quieter, but the bathroom lights didn't work and neither did the heater's temperature control. We had to sleep with the window open on Dec 1st. This place is a pit. You get what you pay for, I guess, and we won't stay again.
