Super 8 by Wyndham Omaha NE

The fridge in our king room didn't work, and on the second night the toilet stopped flushing. I was moved to a queen room even though I had booked a king. On the first night there, I found and killed an adult German cockroach, then killed more during the last two days of my five-night stay, when I was barely in the room. Only the manager could speak and understand English. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

Breakfast was supposed to run until 9:30, but at 8 there was only cold cereal with no milk, coffee without creamer, and toast. Cereal was spilled everywhere and nobody was around. I checked again around 8:45 or 9, and it was still the same. The room's deadbolt was loose and wouldn't open all the way, so I couldn't get out at first. The building entrance is wheelchair accessible, but even the first floor has stairs down to it, and aside from the front desk, getting around seemed to require stairs. When we first opened our room door, there were already people inside with the AC and TV on and their bags and clothes out. I walked right in on them. We got another room, which smelled horrible, with a broken door light switch, a microwave that didn't work, and hard water stains in the tub. It was late and I was exhausted, so I stayed because the sheets seemed clean. Then I opened the nightstand and found crumbs, an empty plastic bag, and some smear inside, which I hope was ketchup. There was an ice bucket but no cups.

We only needed a place to sleep before heading home the next morning, so despite the condition of the rooms and not feeling very safe, we stayed. Our first room was really run down and the tub wouldn't stop running. The staff were nice about switching us to a room down the hall. That one was easier to manage, though still shabby, with things falling apart that needed replacing. We usually find Wyndamn hotels decent for a quick stay, but probably won't return to this one. At least the staff were kind.

I left at first daylight and the hotel won't refund the nights I didn't use. We didn't feel safe there with our family. I could hear through the thin walls what sounded like drug dealers next door planning to rob another dealer for drugs, and they had guns. They also talked about robbing me. The room was dirty and smelled really bad. I booked this for my first trip to Nebraska because it was near the Zoo we wanted to visit. I ended up at the Marriot up the road, which was so much better. Please be careful.
