I've no real complaint about the people staying here; I'm more comfortable around them than the front desk. It's good that kids feel safe enough to play outside. But if you're considering a long stay, read up on tenant rights. This place offers stays beyond 30 days, yet doesn't seem to want to recognize those rights. The condition has gotten worse over time. Mold is a glaring problem, in the ACs and likely inside the walls, with poor ventilation that is especially bad in the bathrooms. Several residents, including me, have gotten sick, and you can hear people having respiratory problems. The rooms also aren't cleaned properly. I've found strange stains on supposedly clean sheets, had to wipe the floor because my feet went black after an hour barefoot, and spent what felt like hours scrubbing grime from the shower. They seem to encourage smoking too, with ashtrays on almost every AC. Meanwhile, they pay for yard maintenance, though the grass doesn't even look good. The photos are misleading; it doesn't look so nice here anymore. Expect rudeness from the front desk if you have a disability, health issue, or difficulty communicating. My partner is hard of hearing in one ear and told the men at the desk, but they wouldn't come closer or speak louder and actually rolled their eyes. Sometimes staff are really good, but the unprofessionalism is hard to ignore. They're often at the desk only when they feel like it, and now the main front desk room is locked, so you have to talk through a side window. A sign says something like, "We'll be back in 30 mins :)" but they're usually gone longer. I once saw a staff member back there relaxing in his chair while the sign was still up. A new employee recently joined and clearly hasn't been trained properly. I asked for a receipt, and she said the printer was broken, though it worked before and after that day. It seemed like she didn't know how to use it. I really wouldn't recommend staying here, especially if you have respiratory issues or tend to get sick. The only upside is that nugget and several great restaurants are within walking distance, but that's just a Davis thing.
