Relax Inn

We've been here for just under two months, and neither of our rooms has had bed bugs. Nobody I've talked to here has said they had them either. The first room was a bit small, and the cleaning could've been better, but at $350 a week or less, you can't expect Hilton-level accommodations. It's easy enough to grab a broom and rag and tidy things up yourself. We just moved into an updated room that's gorgeous and roomy. The other guests have been friendly, and although I had some safety concerns because of where we are on Ridgewood, we've had no problems. The owner Mike was kind and understanding when we were desperate and needed help. Many people here are families or others who need a safe place to live for a week or months, so tourists writing reviews should keep that in mind. We're in a poor part of Daytona, and this is one of the most affordable places you'll find. If you expect Hilton-level rooms, you'll need to pay Hilton prices.

I've rented here four or five times because I like the staff. They're very nice and handle any problems quickly. The rooms are basic, and the bathroom doors swing inward, so you have to work your way around the door to reach the shower. Still, this is the best price on the strip and near the beach.

There are nicer motels for the same price, and I wouldn't recommend renting here. We dropped our things off and went to get food; when we got back, there were roaches, the TV didn't work, and there wasn't a trash can. I asked for a refund or at least a discount, but they refused both. Instead, the manager's husband came in and sprayed bug spray around our belongings. It was a terrible stay, and I won't come back.

I couldn't get a refund or discount, so I was stuck in a disgusting room that smelled like someone had died in it. It had leaves everywhere, roaches on the bathroom wall, black mold in the mini fridge, and a TV that didn't work or have a remote. We gave the staff a detailed rundown of all the problems, but nothing changed. I was not at all pleased and definitely don't recommend this dump of a motel.
