Embassy Suites by Hilton Lompoc Central Coast

The rooms are fairly basic, and the layout could be better, which is why I’m giving it four stars. Still, the location is great, the service was very good, and the quiet courtyard with its pool and jacuzzi is a nice bonus. Breakfast is the standout: made-to-order omelets with lots of toppings, plus fruit, yogurt, fried potatoes, and more. It’s much better than the usual hotel breakfast and earns five stars on its own. I’d recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

Breakfast was a hassle. To get an omelet, this was the first Embassy Suites where we were asked for a breakfast card. We waited in line, went back to the room for the card, then queued again. And if you wanted breakfast meat, you had to wait in the omelet line for that too, instead of getting it from the regular buffet. In the room, there was dirt all over the floor, and the shower smelled like sewer water about two minutes in. It was awful. I wouldn’t recommend this place or stay here again.

The omelets were fresh and tasty, and happy hour was great. I worked during my stay and the Wi-Fi was good as always. My room at the back was clean and quiet, and it didn’t feel run down, even though the building is over 30 years old. Allan and Angie were so kind and helpful, they really made me comfortable. I highly recommend the embassy. If I could, I’d give it 10 stars.

Jordan and Michelle at the front desk were wonderful. I walked out wearing a different jacket without my room or car keys, and Michelle helped me get back in easily, even late at night. The room was huge, with space to sit and watch TV or get comfortable. There was a sofa that pulled out into a mattress, a chair with a footrest, and a desk area with hookups for a laptop or work. A back window faced a movie theater, but outside there was a lovely little pond and waterfall with a calming tropical feel, even in pouring rain. We’ll be back and hope to try the pool and jacuzzi next time. The rain and strong wind kept us out this time. We did enjoy the little drink reception at check-in, getting dressed up and having drinks together. Dinner was already closed by the time my husband finished work, but I’d like to try it on our next visit. Breakfast was delicious, one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had in a long time, and a great start to the day after a night on a very comfortable bed. The property allows pets for a fee, which matters a lot to me. Finding a clean, reputable place where I can bring my dog can be impossible, and I don’t mind paying extra. I keep her toys, bed, blankets, and other comfort things in my car so she can settle in. There’s room to take pets outside, a little plaza to walk around, and poop bags are provided. The only real downside was that the bathtub had no stopper, so we couldn’t soak while the weather made sitting outside at the jacuzzi out of the question. With our camping plans hit by the heavy rain, I’d much rather have been warm, comfy, and relaxed here than cold and miserable. Thanks, embassy suites, for saving the day!
