Hotel Northampton

Easter brunch has been a family tradition for several years, but after this 2026 visit, we’ll take our business elsewhere next year. We paid $520 and had a miserable experience. With reservations, we still waited 20 minutes to be seated, along with the rest of the noon crowd. They’d switched to three seating times without leaving enough time to clean and prepare between them. It was disorganized, and trash was left at my table. Some food had been sitting out from the previous seating for at least an hour, so it was cold, old, dry, and they ran out of it. Other dishes were undercooked from being rushed out, then overcooked in the refill. At one point, food was unavailable for a while, several times. Plates also ran out for about 15 minutes. I asked for a spinach and onion omelette, but the man said there were no onions and offered peppers because they taste the same, hahah. They put out maybe 15 or 20 chocolate mousse portions for around 100 reservations and seemed bothered when we asked. After some persuasion, we got one for our party of seven. All five or six dessert options had some kind of chocolate, and most tasted boxed or store-bought, except for the coconut lemon cake. They used Cool Whip for whipped cream, the syrup was fake, and the ketchup tasted like a tin can. Some people might like that, but I don’t. My coffee in the carafe was cold. My amazing waiter replaced it with a fresh one, but there was no cream.

We hosted a work conference at The Hotel Northampton recently, and the attendees were impressed by the history and ambiance. They also enjoyed the hotel, the food, and the service. The staff took such care of the conference, and their top-notch service was heartwarming. Thank you to everyone who helped make it a great experience. I hope to come back for a personal stay.

I photographed a wedding at Hotel Northampton and had a wonderful experience. The day ran smoothly from beginning to end, thanks to attentive, organized staff and beautifully maintained spaces. Right in downtown Northampton, the hotel has a timeless, elegant character while still feeling warm and welcoming. It’s a lovely choice for couples who want a classic setting with personality and an easy in-town experience.

For nearly $500 a night, we expected a spectacular room, but ours was just fine, nothing special. There weren’t any menus in the room, so we had to call room service to have some brought up. At checkout, we called the front desk and asked for a baggage cart in our second-floor room. We’re senior citizens, and the extra walking is hard for us. The woman said she was alone at the desk and couldn’t leave, so there was nobody to bring one. This is a 106-room hotel, yet apparently there were no service staff available to help, and she was handling the whole place by herself. Seriously? For that room price, the owner should have come from home to help us. Unreal. I wouldn’t stay here.
