The staff were really nice, especially when I accidentally locked myself out of my room. My oceanfront room was clean, and I loved having an electric tea kettle. A back door opened onto a surfside patio with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables. Main Street, the boardwalk, and pavilion are only a couple of blocks away. I'd stay here again.

Opening the back door and stepping onto the beach in just a few steps was a great change from the bigger resorts nearby. The seaview room was spectacular at sunrise, and I liked not having to squeeze in an elevator with strangers or wait an hour in a line of cars to unload luggage. There was no long valet or luggage queue either. The price was a plus, and the whole place felt like a low-stress, relaxing getaway with a vintage beach resort feel and no sense of overcrowding. Rooms were clean and well maintained, beds were comfortable, the heating and cooling worked perfectly, and the showers were excellent. Staff were friendly and prompt. The facility does show its age, though it's maintained well. Salt mist means surface corrosion, doors can stick now and then, and curtain rods have a little extra friction from surface rust. Those are minor things. I was surprised to see three outdoor grills. Bring charcoal and utensils if you want to use them, I wish I'd planned ahead. This place is totally worth it.

The location is good for downtown, but parking didn't seem sufficient for one car per room. The room was filthy and dilapidated, with food and nasty stuff running down the walls, dirty headboards, bugs everywhere, a bad smell, and dirty bedding. The pool never closes, so it was noisy at night. When I arrived, customers who were adults pulled a gun and cocked it on a 17-year-old, then got arrested.

I wouldn't recommend this place if you're an older crowd. The beds were hard, and their plastic covers made a loud noise whenever we moved. There were no towels in the room, and nobody told us whether Wi-Fi was available. The bathroom counter had half a piece missing, and the mini fridge was all messed up. As soon as we arrived, police were here over an argument. The people who called them then partied with loud music until 7 a.m. There was no front desk to call and complain, and the yelling and screaming went on all night. The walls were so thin we could hear a whole conversation.
