I came to DeSmet for Laura Ingalls Wilder, and one of the best parts of my trip was staying in the Bird Song Room at Prairie House Manor Bed and Breakfast. I had a great conversation with Eric about all things Laura Ingalls Wilder, and both Eric and Rob made me feel welcome. The house is beautiful and close to the attractions and activities. My room was comfortable, and the bathroom was huge with plenty of hot water in the shower. I also liked choosing my breakfast, which was delicious. I'd happily stay again and recommend it.

We stayed in the Rose Garden room, which was spacious, quiet, and comfortable, with a consistently perfect temperature. The hosts were warm and friendly, and knew so much about Laura Ingalls Wilder. Breakfast was fantastic every morning. I'd come back just for that bacon! It's a beautiful historic house in a perfect location. Highly recommend.

The beds were very comfortable, and we enjoyed the home and made good use of the Keurig coffee bar. We had a nice stay and would return.

We spent two weeks here while working at the local community health center, and had a wonderful stay. Rob and Eric, the owners, were kind, welcoming, and flexible around our work schedule. The rooms were cozy and nicely decorated, each with its own bathroom, TV, and mini fridge. We looked forward to the delicious home-cooked breakfast each morning, with a menu to choose from, and had hot tea every evening at the coffee and tea counter, which was open around the clock. Thanks for making our time in De Smet special.

I arrived a day early, and they greeted me with a smile and sorted out the problem. I stayed three nights and loved being in such a beautiful home instead of a hotel. The hosts, whose names I can't remember, made it feel warm and peaceful.
