Katie, maybe? The friendly blond woman who checked us in made a big difference after my husband and I arrived later than planned. I was frazzled and, honestly, hungry and cranky, though that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. She was so helpful that I felt much better by the time we reached our clean, nice room. I slept well, too.

Christian remembered our names, and we always enjoyed chatting with him when we headed out or came back. We really adore him. That’s part of why my husband and I returned after our first stay in April, when the staff already impressed us so much. The hotel is clean and the rooms feel cozy. We’ll make it our regular place whenever we come to deadwood.
It’s near the main strip, so getting around is easy, but the spot is still fairly quiet. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were nice, and breakfast was about what I expected.
Rachel at the front desk was downright nasty and snotty because we were ten minutes past checkout. She called our room and threatened extra charges. People deserve better treatment. I reported this to Wyndham.
The room itself was okay, but the service was frustrating. There was an issue with our reservation, and the staff seemed annoyed while helping us check in. Housekeeping kept knocking, too. Checkout was at 11, but they started going door to door at 8 in the morning. We heard people in other rooms shout that they were still sleeping, then got knocks at our door at 8, 10, and again at 10:40. It felt like they were trying to rush everyone out. Our window seals had lots of dead flies, and the shower drain was clogged and slow. There wasn’t breakfast, though the lobby snacks were pretty cheap.
