The breakfast really stood out. The selection was a reasonable range of familiar continental items, but the quality was better than I'd expect at an ordinary hotel. The eggs and bacon crumble were fresh and moist, and the coffee had a lot of good flavor. My wife and I were on a cross-country drive and had a very comfortable night here. The room was clean, the AC worked great without being noisy, and the bed and soft blankets were lovely. There was a huge thunderstorm, but once we were inside for the night we couldn't hear it. We'd recommend this place to anyone passing through Decatur.

The front desk staff member was really sweet, which was the one good part of my stay. My key wouldn't work, so they opened the door manually so I could get my things. That wasn't a big deal by itself, but after I was moved to another room, one bed had a yellow stain on the blanket. The other bed looked like it might have bed bugs. They moved me again, and the floor under the desk in that room looked like it hadn't been swept.

We'd stay again, especially for the good price. The unexpected thing was that there was a pool, even though we couldn't find it listed as an amenity on any hotel site. IHG management should update that. Breakfast was included, with hot but basic choices like eggs, bacon, and waffles. The building seems to be a remodeled Country Inn, redone in Summer 2025. For an older place, they've done a good job refreshing the paint, furniture, and carpets. It feels more modern and fresh than I expected.

The front desk staff were so nice and gave amazing customer service, which makes me feel bad saying this, but the rooms were disgusting and full of bugs. I couldn't even stay the whole night.

The hotel looked pretty updated, but I found one bed bug or tick, I'm not sure which. I killed the tick. I'm not staying here again.
