Residence Inn by Marriott Decatur

The room itself was clean and fine, but don't use the sofa bed. There was basically no mattress, so I was sleeping on bars.

We thought breakfast was complimentary because they gave us a card. After we ordered and the food arrived, we learned we owed another $24. The cards were actually worth $10 off each meal. Apart from that mix-up, everything was perfect.

The location was great and the place itself was great, but be aware of the $150 per night pet fee. We stayed less than 12 hours with one small dog who was never left alone, and that non-refundable charge took our $152 room to $360 after tax. A house rental charged $150 for a whole week, and even Marriott Resort hotels don't charge that much. The fee was posted on the website, but I didn't notice it, so I want other people traveling with pets to know. We canceled our return reservation and found another hotel just as nice with a more affordable pet fee.

My shower was filthy with mold, and there was dried blood on the sheets. That's disgusting and completely unacceptable, the worst hotel experience I've had in my life. You're an embarrassment to the Marriott name and overrated. I'll never stay there again.
