I stayed a little over a week for work, and the room had recently been completely remodeled. The bed was comfortable, and the room was much better than I expected. There’s a grocery store next door, a laundromat across the street, a coffee shop around the corner, and a bar and grill opposite. Everything on Deer Lodge’s main strip is within walking distance. I’d stay here again if I’m in the area.

The room was better than we expected, and I liked the criminal couple decorating it, “BONNY and CLYDE.” We stayed three nights and had a fun weekend here. We arrived late the first night, but after we called ahead, they left a key card for us. It was a great spot to sleep, thanks.

We were hauling an oversized load on a lowboy from Utah through Montana toward Idaho, and expected to run out of driving time around 7 pm. Deer Lodge was right where the route put us, and I found The Old Montana Inn on Google while looking for somewhere by the interstate where we wouldn’t have to turn around our 76' load. I called around 1 pm to ask about a room and parking. The woman at the desk was so nice, confirmed rooms were available, and explained where we could park. I didn’t reserve or pay, since I wasn’t sure we’d make it that far. By 5:30, online booking showed no rooms left, so I called again. She told me not to worry, that she had saved the front of the building for our truck and had a room ready because I’d called earlier. We were so pleased. The room was comfortable, clean, and cozy. There was a bar with great food across the street and a grocery store next door, so we had everything we needed. We’ll come back next time we pass through.

The place was clean and cozy, and check-in and checkout were easy. We had a great stay while passing through town, and Kaffeine Station nearby was an excellent breakfast option.

We rarely had internet, which meant the TV didn’t work. The barn doors look cute, but they’re warped and won’t close all the way, leaving a gap over six inches wide. You’d have to be comfortable with other travelers hearing you on the toilet or seeing you get out of the shower. The bed was okay, but the pillows were very thin and smelled like other people’s heads. The large fridge sits on the floor and drags, so it’s hard to open. There seemed to be a lot of moisture in the room. The towels felt damp, and we woke up with sinus issues. The shower pressure was so strong it hurt, so don’t let it hit sensitive areas. I never dealt with anyone from service, so I’m not sure how to rate that.
