Wave Crest Resort

For a one night visit, the value really impressed me. The views and location were 10/10, and the employees were very hospitable and clearly made an extra effort. The room was great, and having morning coffee and donuts plus a hot tub that actually worked made the stay wonderful.

I’m writing this separately from my good review of the resort location and its staff, who were awesome. This complaint is about the management team. I understand the resort has different owners and is run by a management team, but my experience with Kelsey and Adrian, who was supposedly the supervisor, was horrible. The day before my stay, they called to move me from a two bedroom to a single. They were meant to refund $200, but instead charged me another $200. I’m now waiting for a $400 refund. They acted as though they were doing me a favor. They said it was a human mistake, which I could understand. But when I asked for a discount or something to make up for it, they refused. They seemed to think returning my money was compensation, and they were rude about it. They made me feel like I was asking too much and like the whole thing was minor. It left me thinking this kind of mistake may be normal for them. If you stay here, you may have to worry about a last minute room change and management charging your card without authorization.

We look forward to our visit to Wavecrest every year. The location is beautiful, and the friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms make each stay relaxing and enjoyable. See you next year!

Wave Crest is always a pleasure to return to. It sits right on the cliffs above the ocean in Del Mar, CA, with a nice park next to the resort.
