Mitch at the front desk was a real gem and went out of his way to help with what I needed. The room was very clean, even though the hotel itself is older, and the bed was comfortable. Having two sinks made getting ready easy, and the TV had plenty of channels. Water pressure was decent, too. I liked the two doors and little back patio. I’d booked a non-smoking room, but my husband smokes and was glad to have the patio. Breakfast was the usual continental spread with waffles, yogurt, cereal, and pastries. There’s a pool, though I didn’t try it. I think the restaurant on site is permanently closed, but the Italian place down the street that Mitch recommended was really good. I only wish the dryer had been working. Still, I was very happy with the overnight stay and would definitely come back.

The hallways and stairwells were the worst part, with cobwebs, candy wrappers, and other trash lying around. We never saw a housekeeper, and one of the three rooms we booked had fleas. The drapes were almost falling off the windows, and the AC barely worked during a hot weekend. Bugs kept us from opening the balcony door. Our own room was very clean when we arrived, and the bathroom looked new. This used to be a decent place years ago, but it sure isn't now. It was the only hotel nearby with rooms left for antique extravaganza, and after staying here, I understand why. Such a shame.

The staff were extremely friendly, and the big vaulted ceilings made our upstairs room in the back a nice place to spend the week. Still, the place wasn't very stylish or clean. I always scrub hotel rooms down when we arrive, so it wasn't a huge deal for me, but it looked like nobody had cleaned in months. There was an empty applesauce container behind the TV. Just gross. I wish they'd update the place, they could make so much money.

The room was so hot all night that we barely slept, and I woke up with a swollen, puffy face and bags under my eyes from the heat. The little AC unit was awkwardly piped in, and even cranked to cold it seemed to throw heat off. We couldn't open the door by the picture window to reach the courtyard and big pool. The room seemed pleasant enough at first, with a king bed, table, fridge, and microwave. But you drive up to a door on the windowless side of the building, which looks like storage units. The shower pressure was poor, and the TV picture was unclear. We only had decaf coffee, no bars of soap, and the bath towels were basically hand towels. I loaded the fridge with food from farm stands, then found out it wasn't working, though the freezer was. I hope the $50 worth of food didn't spoil and give us food poisoning. This was my worst hotel stay ever. I'm usually tolerant of cosmetic issues, but this place was awful in so many ways.

The rooms are a bit old and could use some modernization, but they allow pets, which is an immediate five stars for me. The staff were courteous and kind. The young man working in the office overnight is especially great with people.
