Budget Inn - Denver East

We arrived around 11 pm, and the young woman at the front desk was so friendly, answered all my questions, and let us know dinner was complimentary. Our room was clean, well set up, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was fully stocked, and the staff kept checking that we had what we needed. The next night we didn’t get back until 3 am, and the front desk girl welcomed us again and asked how our night out had been. At dinner, two women were especially sweet. They offered suggestions and went out of their way to find a box of cookies to check that they didn’t contain nuts for me. Even when a couple of girls were rude and mean to the employees, the staff kept smiling. We were the last ones eating, but they checked with us before taking food for themselves so they wouldn’t take what was left. I’ve stayed at some really nice hotels, but this was my best hotel experience. I’ll choose it over anywhere else next time I’m in Denver. Thanks for a great stay!

We moved rooms three times because of maintenance problems, and were put in rooms that cost less than what we’d been charged. The shower pressure was awful, the comforters were so thin they reminded me of curtains, and we spent two of our four days cold after the heater stopped working. All five of my kids got sick, including my 4-month-old. The Wi-Fi was very poor, the place was run down, and it felt like just about everything was broken. Housekeeping never showed up during our four-day stay. Our first night, staff said they had no access to comforters, so we had to sleep without them. The staff were rude, disrespectful, and seemed to communicate only when it was time to screw over guests. They accused me of breaking a window lock and charged me, then hung up when I called about it. I called over 25 times and was hung up on, ignored, or threatened with police for harassment. The staff were never on the same page and had little integrity. I emailed the GM and am waiting for a response. Staff said more than once that the hotel would close on February 1st, so they seemed careless about guests, maintenance, and problems in general. They also accuse you of damage if you upset them. Corporate said I had to contact Hopper or the hotel for a refund, and wouldn’t refund the money taken for damage I didn’t cause or the cost of our stay, despite the unprofessional treatment and maintenance issues. My next step is contacting 9 News Problem Solvers. I wouldn’t stay here again if it were the last place on earth.

The room was clean, and the bathroom was too. The furniture could use an update, but the bed was big and comfortable as always. Glad to see Comfort Inn Northfield keeping up its standard. The shower had great pressure, and even though we got to the lobby near the end of breakfast hours, the breakfast bar was almost fully stocked. The food was hot and delicious. The neighborhood isn’t the best, but the hotel makes up for it with a 3-star stay at 2-star prices.

We stopped for one night while traveling to a friend’s wedding, my wife, the kids, and me. It’s a great little hotel for the price, with renovated rooms that looked really nice and comfortable beds. The outside could use some touch-ups. Check-out at 11 was great, and they also offered complimentary breakfast and dinner. The only thing that kept this from five stars was the front desk. The staff seemed a little turned off, and Amanda didn’t come across as friendly or approachable. I waited about five minutes to ask a question while she was having a personal conversation on the phone. Otherwise, a great hotel.
