Casey at the front desk was warm and welcoming, and we had a good couple of nights in a convenient location. The hotel is old and has a lot of charm, with beautiful ceilings. Our room was spacious and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the temperature was just right. We did lose power twice in the room and had to press the reset button, so the electrical work could use attention. Towels were thin and not soft. I'd requested a higher-floor room but was given the third floor, and would have preferred to be higher up. Parking is by far the worst option. We paid $22 for overnight parking at Independence Plaza on Curtis and 16th, compared with about $45 at the hotel, which only has around 32 spots.

The parking situation and the way staff handled it left us deeply disappointed. We expected much better from a Marriott property. We had prepaid for parking through a third-party booking site, but when we arrived at midnight, the hotel said guest parking was full and offered no alternative except a lot three blocks away for $22. We were frustrated, especially since we'd picked that option to avoid moving the car and paying again while visiting nearby restaurants, but we were prepared to comply. Then, on the way to the garage, we saw open spaces in the guest lot and reasonably thought we could use one because we'd prepaid and had been shown where guest parking was. Nine hours later, we found three Marriott-issued parking tickets on the car, citing violations and saying photos were on file. These weren't city tickets. At the desk, an employee spoke condescendingly and said prepaying for parking was “not an option.” While we were discussing it, another guest came over with the exact same problem: she had also prepaid through a third-party site and was told it wasn't valid. That guest said her car had been broken into twice overnight, around midnight and again at 5:00 AM. The employee knew about it. The hotel reportedly called once and got no answer, but didn't knock on her door, call the room again, or contact police. The employee said they personally confronted the person and told them not to return. A grocery bag of sunglasses was recovered and kept in a back room. Hearing this while disputing our tickets was extremely concerning. Guests were being ticketed over confusion about prepaid parking, and cars were being broken into on the property without proper notification or police involvement.

Tess and Michelle made it so easy to coordinate our group meetings and training this week at the downtown Courtyard Denver Downtown. We had 15 team members, and anything we needed was ready right away. Communication was excellent, and both of them were helpful and accommodating with a positive, professional attitude throughout. The whole staff made our visit welcoming and smooth from start to finish. The front desk team was great too, helping with parking passes, questions, and anything else the group needed. We loved the hotel for our meetings and team training and would recommend it to anyone holding a group event in downtown Denver. Thank you from all of us, Joshua Scott & Team SOCO Solar / Nu Home

It's easy to get around from here, with one hotel entrance right on 16th Street, and the location made it appealing for a one-night stay. Check-in went smoothly and the room was clean, with high ceilings and a semi-comfortable bed. There are lots of security measures on the doors, which was reassuring. The walls are on the thin side, though, and we could hear the people next door talking.

I've stayed here more than once and like the hotel. The bed was comfy, and the shower had good pressure. There's parking on site, and the location is right in downtown, across from the Denver Mint, near shops, restaurants, bars, and nightlife. We came for a concert at Redrocks and to see a bit of Denver. The amphitheater was a short drive away, maybe 20-30 minutes.
