I come to Denver for work once or twice a month, and this place has a lobby that works well for meetings, getting work done, or taking a break to people-watch. It's easy to reach from the freeway, close to downtown venues, and walkable to Target, Starbucks, CVS, and lots of places to eat. My usual Denver hotel doesn't have some of those amenities, and it waives parking, while this one charges $64 a night, which I don't like. I've had two issues so far, and I'm only on night two of a six-night stay. First, I unpacked and turned on the shower. By the time I'd grabbed my robe and slippers, water was running out into the bathroom because the shower pan had flooded. The front desk moved me to another room, and there haven't been any problems in that room since.

The room was small but decent, and I liked the service from all the breakfast staff. I did see some guests I think may be homeless, since I'd seen them on the streets downtown, and I didn't notice any security guards when I looked around. I think the hotel should have more security. It was an okay stay overall.

I could walk to everything I wanted to see, and the view of the Rockies was great. Since it's right downtown, there's a bit of noise, but that's part of being close to everything. The room was clean and well maintained, and it looked recently renovated. Staff were friendly, and the gym was clean and well equipped. I liked having a fridge and microwave for leftovers from all the great Denver food. Breakfast was a typical Hilton offering, perfectly serviceable. I didn't need it, but appreciated the curtain separating the King bed from what I assume is a pull-out couch for people traveling together.

Parking here is awful. I told the valet I'd park my truck myself, and then he said it was too big for the lot, even though that hadn't been an issue before. Since I wasn't using valet, there was nowhere at the hotel to unload my bags, so I had to park three blocks away. Parking is $30 a night, expires at 5 AM, and they'll fine you if it runs out.

The rooms are average, and the costs add up. They wanted $50 for early check-in when I arrived just 10 minutes before check-in time, plus $64 for overnight parking. For the room price along with parking, you can find a better option.
