Hotel Indigo Denver Downtown — Union Station by IHG

We picked this hotel for its price and its location near union station, which made it easy to take the light rail to the Broncos/Bills game. The rooms were quiet and clean, and the beds were really comfortable. There are some good places to eat within walking distance. The hotel restaurant was nice, though expensive for what it offered, so I’d eat nearby instead. We’d happily stay again.

Our anniversary room was supposed to have a Mountain View, but instead we got a view of a wall and were charged extra for it. The hotel was noisy too. We were on the third floor, and around 9 o’clock last night people upstairs put on snow boots and jumped around for more than 10 minutes. Cleanliness wasn’t a big issue for me, though I wouldn’t call the hotel especially clean. In the morning, the coffee urn was empty. I told the front desk, but she said thanks without even looking at me, and I left without coffee. I’d booked partly because breakfast was included, but when I asked, the clerk denied it was part of my reservation. Again, she wouldn’t look me in the eye and seemed too focused on her computer to pay attention to a customer. Some reviews had mentioned bad service, and I have to agree. I’d never stay here again or recommend it to anyone. It costs far too much for the quality they provide.

Union Station is a short walk away, so it’s easy to get out and explore downtown. The hotel feels well cared for, with a polished, boutique-style lobby and common areas, plus a convenient on-site restaurant and bar with good food and drinks. Our room was clean, stylish, and quiet, with a comfortable bed and great city views. Staff were friendly and professional and made check-in easy. Parking and valet went smoothly too. A beautiful modern hotel in a prime spot, and an excellent stay from start to finish.

We only stayed one night, but I’d definitely come back. The rooms were large and extremely clean, the central A/C was quiet, and the beds were so comfortable that my husband and I slept for 10 hours straight. The attached restaurant had delicious pancakes. The toilet area wasn’t very roomy and might be difficult for someone plus size.
