Mint House Downtown Denver

I stayed in two apartments here. One had a little more equipment than the other, but both were nice, and I’d definitely come back. For an out-of-towner, this complex is very convenient, with a fantastic gym and an outdoor pool when the weather’s right. The coffee area is great too, and its well-maintained machine worked about 95% of the time. Just be aware that trains with big engines pass overnight and make some noise. It woke me up, but it wasn’t a disaster.

The parking setup is absurd, so don’t bother if you have a car. The cleaning staff also spent the day antagonizing our dogs, and after 12 hours they’d only done a couple of rooms. Most of the time they were sitting in the hallway on chairs in empty rooms. The booking staff were completely incompetent too. Although the website boldly says pets are welcome, this place is not pet friendly. When we tried to cancel, they ignored us and listed our dogs as service dogs even after we said they weren’t and that we needed to cancel. Do yourself a favor and book at the hotel across the street. This place is crap.

The hotel itself is nice and the amenities are good, but coordinating our wedding room block and getting through the weekend was stressful and disappointing. Emails often went unanswered, and replies came inconsistently from a disorganized team. During the weekend, guests were locked out after hours with nobody available to help, parking passes weren’t ready when needed, and door codes weren’t sent when promised as guests tried to check in. The rate errors were especially frustrating: guests were charged more than the rate we’d been guaranteed, even after a team member confirmed everyone had been billed correctly. We only learned it was still wrong when a guest asked about their unexpectedly high charge, and it was fixed after we contacted the team. We followed up after the wedding to explain the problems and why they were disappointing, but got no response. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or book here again.

I’d give it a 3.5 out of 5. The location is great, in a very safe area close to lots of shopping. The room itself was really nice, and having laundry, an oven, and a toaster makes it a handy hotel and Airbnb combination. But the bed was so uncomfortable, the spare sheets and pillows were dirty, and the carpet needs a good cleaning. Parking was annoying to get in and out of since we had to use the third floor of the garage. It costs $50 per day, so we paid $200 on top of the hotel bill. All in all, it wasn’t a bad stay, and I’d definitely recommend it.
