The desk clerk who checked me in was really nice, and there’s a Chile's right next door with great service and food. I didn’t try the breakfast, since I’m usually gone before 3 am. I spend about 300 nights a year in hotels and might be around for breakfast five times. The carpet was disgusting, I couldn’t tell what was on the shower floor, and the room needed a much better cleaning. Bring flip flops. Maybe wait until this “remodeling” is finished. At this rate, maybe around 2030, and perhaps housekeeping will have a vacuum by then.

Breakfast was passable, though repetitive: eggs and sausage, with bacon or a breakfast sandwich once in a while. The warmers were in bad shape, and one lid came off in my hand. A waffle maker would be a nice addition. The staff were friendly, but as someone who used to work as a resort housekeeper, I felt the cleaning could be better. I often cleaned the room again after housekeeping had been through. We were placed here while our home was rebuilt after a fire. It wasn’t my first choice, and I was very disappointed by the property’s condition for a Marriott. I noticed some improvements before we left, but I’m still dissatisfied. Security is my biggest concern: lots of vagrants and homeless people moved around the property, and I saw different people sleeping in the stairwells on cold days. With the movie house closed, the area felt creepy and dark. The doors are thin, so you hear activity throughout the building, and noise outside my door at all hours made working in the room difficult. Strong smells from other guests smoking all kinds of things also made it hard to stay inside. My room had a full kitchen but no flatware, dishes, toaster, or coffee maker. When my son asked for flatware, he was given several spoons. I’d suggest staying here only in colder months after the first snowfall. Otherwise, you may run into rats that burrow around the hotel dumpster and run across the property at night.

The service was really nice. The woman at the desk checked that we had everything and brought us a whole bunch of towels straight from the dryer. The hotel was super cozy, and although some construction was going on, it wasn’t loud, just painting and things like that. There’s a TV in every room, which gave our family a space of our own for the night. We had a great night.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the front desk staff were very friendly when I checked in. But the bathroom was gross, with little bits of hair all over the shower walls, and it badly needed a refresh. It could use new grout and caulk, and the shower head was almost completely detached from the wall. Only one of the building’s two doors worked with my key card, so I had to walk the full length of the hallway to get to my room. My stay at the Town Place Suites by Marriott was just okay. I might return if the bathroom were properly cleaned.
