The Whale Inn

It’s a cute place, and the rooms are clean and nicely decorated. I liked that they provided toothbrushes, earplugs, and razors. But my husband and I barely slept because the bed was rock hard. Eventually I got up, took the cushions off the chairs, and put them on the floor. There were plenty of fluffy pillows, so I piled those on the cushions and used a blanket. I got very little sleep, but that setup was softer than the bed.

We stopped here overnight while riding our motorcycles north along the coast. The place was clean, nicely decorated, and reasonably priced. The location was handy, too. We’d happily stay again.

They made sure we had a room my husband could reach with his walker, and were very accommodating. We also really liked the recliners, one for each of us, and found the bed very comfortable. The room was clean and nice, close to downtown Depoe Bay and Lincoln City. A luggage rack and a few more hangers would have helped, but we’d definitely come back.

We saw whales in the bay right across the street, and the little town and good restaurants are within walking distance. We’d read the reviews before calling, and the remodeled rooms turned out to be a fun surprise. Each has its own theme, with tasteful decor and furnishings, and everything was clean. The outside might put you off at first, but don’t let it. It’s a lovely place for a night or a longer stay.
