Sea-Tac Airport Value Inn

I was surprised by the mixed reviews because this was one of the best motels I’ve stayed in. I spent one night here after landing late in Seattle. The room was clean and had what I needed, and the street noise was quite reasonable for a motel right by the road. Parking was sufficient, check-in and checkout were easy, and the free breakfast of coffee, pastries, and bananas was simple but enough. The WiFi didn’t work during my stay, so I took off a star. They really need another staff member, though. One woman seemed to be running the whole motel and driving the airport shuttle herself. Sometimes it took a while to find someone at reception, and the phone went unanswered. I wasn’t in a hurry and could see she was alone, so the delays were fine for me. If I’d needed urgent help, I’d have felt differently.

Airport parking review: it feels very odd and unsafe to have to hand over your car key when you park here. Their airport pickup service also never shows up. We parked here once, and a friend did too. Both times, we had to take a cab from the airport.

I’ve been staying here for a few months and I’m happy with it. The rooms are clean and looked after, and the staff are really friendly. It’s very no-frills, but the low price works for me. There’s no coffee maker or little mint on the bed, so don’t expect extras. Still, basic is just right for me.

The staff were so friendly and kind, and the place was clean, which is why I’m giving it four stars. The building is dated and shows some wear, like chipped furniture veneer and older fixtures, but everything worked. It’s basic, with what you need, and cost half as much as other options. On the airport shuttle, I met two groups of returning guests who’d each stayed at least three times and spoke highly of it. They move your car while you’re away, parking it in a fenced side lot. The cars are packed in Tetris style, which seemed secure: people can’t just wander in, and it’d be hard for someone off the street to reach your car. I noticed cars there that were much more expensive than mine. There wasn’t anywhere nearby to eat, though I passed several places on the way home. I didn’t try breakfast. I’d use this place again for the airport.
