Sands on the Fairway

We rented room 19 for a month, paying $950 for a furnished apartment that we couldn’t use as furnished after bedbugs were found. There was pet hair everywhere when we arrived, and management refused to clean it. We later learned the bedbugs affected multiple rooms, so we paid for another hotel for 10 days while they tried to address it. The problem wasn’t resolved, and they offered no compensation or help with that hotel bill. Management was unavailable most of the time and seemed uncaring about the deplorable conditions and poor maintenance. The pool pump was disassembled and not working, and there was a dead rat in the spa, which also didn’t work. Please avoid this place in Lake Havasu. We lost thousands of dollars, and I’d give less than one star if I could. I believe they’ll keep having bedbugs because residents and management don’t care.

I booked a room with a kitchen for one price, but when I arrived at The Sands on the....... they gave me a king room without a kitchen. At reception, the woman said I’d have to pay an extra $60 for a kitchen. Why charge more when my reservation already included one? That didn’t seem right, so I went to another hotel. It was very clean and comfortable, and had a room with a kitchen. The reservation at The Sands on the....... was not correct.

The manager, Alissa, was really polite and helpful. The rooms have been redone, and there’s new carpet. I’d give the place more stars if I could.

A few years back, this place was alright. In the last two years it’s gone seriously downhill. Management is lacking, and the groundskeeper has let the property go. Head somewhere else.
