The pool itself is quite nice, though cold even for a Minnesotan. The units don't match the "5 Star" ad, which really ought to say "Just the 5th star." Here are the problems I found in Unit 1603: There were no flooring transition strips in two places, so toes got stubbed, and the place needs touch-up paint and plaster as well as a thorough cleaning. A handful of noodles had been left in the dishwasher, apparently because the previous tenant hadn't scraped their plate. The balcony doors were very dirty, the furniture moldy, and the kids' bedding stained. The bed drawers weren't on rails, and the main bedroom's balcony slider lock was broken. The fridge ice maker leaked a lot of ice, though it still made ice. The sofa was dingy with a tear in the seam, and the main bathroom plunger was broken. The tub stopper was the wrong size; I asked RealJoy Vacations to fix it, and they replaced it with another wrong-size one. The bar countertop needs replacing because it was installed poorly. The vacuum doesn't pick up sand, it just spreads it around. Hopefully this list helps get the maintenance done before the next tenant.

It's a great property, but check who supplies the unit before booking. Avari Group refuses to pay its condo fees, so the property has suspended access to all amenities for guests in their units.

The resort was fabulous and the restaurant was great, but our unit's host left a lot to be desired. Don't Air B&B this one!

The staff are always friendly and willing to help, and we booked again through Amber, who rents quite a few condos. She's exceptional at accommodating you and your family. The huge pool, hot tub, workout gym, and bar area are things we love. Still, too many issues are going on currently, following a lot of changes since last year and poor management. I hope the place turns around in the next few months. This time I gave it four stars.
