Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham Dearborn/Detroit MI

I paid close to $400 for a penthouse suite and ended up getting only $50 back instead of a full refund. We had to move between three rooms. None had towels or shower curtains, and the third room had no running water in the kitchen and no working heat. I even had to buy cleaning supplies after being told housekeeping wasn't available on weekends. I've never had an experience like this. This place needs to be shut down.

Within the first 15 minutes I was already writing this review. The floor was dirty, there were no towels, and the sofa bed had no sheets or pillows. A cap left by the previous guests hadn't been picked up either. No one was at reception for the first 5 to 7 minutes after we arrived. I booked through an app I usually rely on, but this place isn't worth the price and doesn't meet Wyndham's basic standards.

We had trouble even getting the reservation right. The woman we first called quoted $100 for the room and $100 for the deposit, though the suite actually cost $200 for each. She also booked the wrong date, the day before we wanted, so we were charged a late fee for not showing up. Nobody knew who had made the reservation, and we had to book again, then couldn't check in right away. The first room was filthy and had roaches. The replacement was better, but still nowhere near worth the money. I had to sleep on the cleanest pillow I could find, which had a blood stain on it. Every single fire detector was missing. The bathrooms were somewhat clean, but still uncomfortable. I hated it. Please don't go there.

We didn't stay, and this was supposed to be a night away to celebrate my daughter's graduation. Dead bugs were on the dirty curtains, there were bugs in the bathroom, and the tub was dirty. The sheets were stained, and there was dried blood on both sides of the mattress. When I asked for our money back, they said we'd passed the check-in time for a refund and offered only 10% off. It was disgusting and so disappointing. Customer service was horrid too. I wouldn't send a dying dog there.
