Sonesta Select Detroit Novi

I spent about two weeks at the Sonesta Select. The rooms were well kept, the hotel was quiet, and check-in was quick. It's conveniently surrounded by stores, and the whole staff was friendly and good to talk with. My only issue is that they don't serve breakfast on weekends. I'd gladly stay here again.

For half what nearby hotels cost, I stayed here for 4 nights in August and would come back. The room was clean, the mattress comfortable, and the internet fast enough for work and meetings. The shower had great water pressure and temperature, the AC got ice cold, and the front desk staff were friendly. First Watch and Walmart are close by for breakfast and snacks.

Check-in took far too long for no clear reason, and the room was filthy. The hotel overall seemed dirty, too. For this price, having no microwave or fridge is unacceptable. The bathroom was so dirty that the public lobby restrooms were cleaner. Several things didn't work, including the lamps, lights, and outlets. There were inches of dust behind the nightstands, and the nightstand and dresser drawers were filthy. The TV glitched and only worked about half the time. I've stayed in cleaner, more comfortable Motel 6s and Red Roof Inns, which says a lot. This was one of my worst hotel experiences. I wouldn't return or recommend it.

Crystal at the Sonesta Select Novi spent 45 minutes patiently on the phone helping me sort out a problem with my Booking.com reservation. She made sure it was fixed properly. Her persistence, professionalism, and sincere willingness to help made a stressful situation much easier. A huge thank you to Crystal, she's a real asset to the hotel.
