Atheneum Suite Hotel

The ballroom is big, open, and well lit, and the twinkle lights over the dance floor give it a warm feel. Cocktail hour on the balcony is fun because guests can watch the dinner plates being finished downstairs. The dance floor is always packed when we're there, and with rooms above, guests can stay late and party hard. We always know we're in for a good time when we photograph a wedding at Atheneum. The venue is beautiful, and the recently renovated lobby makes a great backdrop for getting-ready and bridal party pictures. Its central spot also makes it easy to get around Detroit. It's a perfect wedding venue.

Such a cool place to stay the night. We had lots of room, and the view from the seventh floor was amazing. Rates weren't too bad, especially with friends to split the cost. We took a shuttle to the concert venue, and everything went perfectly that night.

Valet made parking simple. We never waited more than a minute or two, and the hotel is close to downtown, the concert venue, and plenty more, so it's easy to get around on foot. Check-in and checkout were quick, and the staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful. There was a company party winding down in a conference-type room on our floor when we returned from the concert, but we couldn't hear the music at all, even though our room was just around the corner. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, and the room and atmosphere suited it perfectly. The jacuzzi tub was a highlight. We came back from the concert and could relax and unwind in the room. The stay more than met our expectations, it exceeded them.

The hosts made the place special. Zach mixed top-notch drinks, and Matthew made spending time at the bar fun and welcoming. Jay Benitez and Daryl were fabulous, too. It's a great bar and hotel, with huge rooms, high ceilings, and beautiful décor. Prices were very reasonable. The whole staff, from reception at check-in through housekeeping, did an amazing job. The location is convenient for the border, the auto show, and major companies. It's a place you'd want to be.
