Comfort Inn Detroit Downtown

The staff were top tier, really friendly, and breakfast was yummy. The location also made getting downtown easy, either with a short walk or a three-minute drive. The room, though, wasn't in great shape. It wasn't especially clean, the TV didn't work, shampoo was missing, and there were other things that didn't work either. I found loose medication under the nightstand before checking in. A better room check after cleaning should catch something that easy to avoid.

We'd stay here again after a very nice visit. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff were awesome. The hot breakfast was good too. We were in Detroit for the Michigan State Maryland game at Ford field, and the hotel offered a free shuttle there and back. Richard, our shuttle driver, was nice and informative. The woman who checked us in made my day when she said she was a Spartan fan too. GO GREEN!!! My wife and I stayed on 11/29 2025.

The room itself was decent and clean, though there was a small stain on the mattress cover. Getting there late, hungry, and without pictures, we just found food and went to sleep. The rest of the place didn't look well kept: paper cups littered the hallway, the elevator was out of order, and half the snacks were missing from the vending machine. The parking lot is pretty small, too. When we arrived, the security guard, receptionist, and another woman were all outside the front door. I booked last minute and probably should have reserved months earlier. It was good enough for one night, but I probably wouldn't return. Lesson learned.

The hotel had what we needed, including parking, and the woman at check-in was kind and polite even though we arrived late yesterday. The staff are phenomenal, so friendly and helpful. The washer was out of order, but they saw my fiancé taking clothes to the laundromat behind the hotel because our toddler's snuggy needed washing. They offered to wash it, and it came back right away, folded and still warm. The hotel isn't the cleanest or most comfortable, obviously, but the people made a big difference.
