DoubleTree by Hilton Detroit - Dearborn

The lobby looked beautiful, and the staff were so friendly. The food I ordered was delicious, though we had to go down to the restaurant to get it, and its menu was completely different from the one in the room and online. The prices were 2-3x higher. I decided against using the pool after seeing how cloudy the water was. In the room, the blanket had a clear mark that looked like a bloodstain. When we asked for another one, the lobby told us housekeeping had finished for the day. We pulled it off and found a yellow and black ring-shaped spot on the sheet underneath. We went back and insisted on clean sheets. It was uncomfortable, and I barely slept. The bed was uncomfortable too. The room was disgusting, and the pool looked milky. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The lobby looked beautiful, with a waterfall and nice decor, and the guy at the front desk was extremely nice. Getting there was confusing, though: both sides of the parking lot looked blocked off, and I went around the building twice before finding Door 4 tucked in a corner, even though I’d been told it was closest to my room. Once inside, I saw the card reader was broken, so anyone could walk in. My room had a faint musty smell and a broken toilet seat. I checked in late and tried the restaurant. I ordered egg rolls and a burger, then waited 35 minutes before they said they were out of burgers. There were only four tables. I agreed to a chicken sandwich instead and waited another 25 minutes. I’ve had stomach problems since, and I know it was that food because it was all I ate that day. I’m very disappointed. I usually stay at Hilton hotels, and this was the first to let me down this badly. I won’t be back.

The thermostat was hanging almost off the wall and didn’t work, so the room was freezing. I was only there for one night and decided to put up with it. When I told the front desk, they said they’d notify maintenance. I doubt it, since the thermostat looked like it had been messed with many times before. The wait staff were rude. There are better hotels around here.

I checked out after ten minutes. The room looked awful and smelled bad, and the bed and frame made me think the place was in bad shape. There were bugs in the drawers, blood spots on the wall, and a dirty ceiling. The lobby photos make it look much better than the rooms. I seriously don’t know how this hotel is by Hilton.
