The Detroit Club

I want to recognize Harlen and his supervisor for turning around what had started as an unpleasant visit to The Detroit Club. My wife and I had a bad encounter with another staff member, and Harlen immediately stepped in with outstanding courtesy and professionalism. He made sure the rest of our time there matched the great experience we’d come to expect. Harlen knew the property and its history in depth, and was personable and resourceful while showing us around. Thanks to him, we enjoyed ourselves and hope to return soon. Good customer service can be hard to find these days, but he restored our faith in it. Hats off, and thanks for the save!

The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, and the shrimp cocktail came with a generous serving. I also enjoyed the drinks, especially the port wine Valerie recommended after dinner. Beautiful Bohemia is stunning, with exquisite decor, and the meal was unforgettable. I’d call it a must-visit and a perfect date night. My stay at the lovely Club Hotel was wonderful from the start. The valet welcomed me warmly, was helpful and courteous, and shared a bit about Detroit’s revitalization and nearby attractions. I love older hotels, so the vintage style, historic feel, and cozy atmosphere really appealed to me. Check-in was impeccable. Valerie greeted me warmly, made me feel at home, and paid close attention to what I needed. When I said I was hungry, she took me to Beautiful Bohemia. The team was kind, considerate, and took time to listen. I felt as if I’d known them forever. Their care and passion made the whole experience special. I’m recommending this palace to friends and family, especially anyone who appreciates a beautiful vintage historic feel, which is rare these days.

That burger and its unusual fries were the best I’ve ever had. The historic hotel and restaurant-bar have a fabulous vibe, and I was so taken with the place that I stopped walking just to look around. It’s a real GEM. I can’t wait to come back, and I’d love to stay as a hotel guest someday. The rooms look gorgeous.

We had the premium spa king suite, but the room stayed cold all night. The heat was turned up, yet the old windows had thick ice on them and the room couldn’t hold warmth. They brought us a heater, but it didn’t get comfortable until the morning, just before checkout. The front desk guy was polite, though he seemed unsure about some things. There wasn’t a list of prices for the snack items in the room, and he seemed lost when I asked. For what we paid, I really think the heat should work better.
