The Shore Club

We held a baby shower at the Shore Club this December, and Dorina Bregu, the Wedding and Events Sales Director, was outstanding. She knows the venue and the people she works with, and her recommendations were key to making the gathering top notch. The staff introduced themselves at the event and checked in throughout to make sure they were delivering what we had envisioned. I was really impressed by their coordination and attentiveness. They put up Christmas trees for us and rearranged things seamlessly, with responses taking only minutes. The prices were very affordable, and some family members are considering having future events here too. I understand the place is under new ownership, and the vibe feels positive and promising. It's also home to the new OLEA restaurant. I wish them all success.

The lobby is beautiful, and the new restaurant looked great. Unfortunately, that was the only good part of our stay while we were in town for a friend's wedding. The hotel looked like a luxury experience in the website photos, but it didn't live up to them, and it wasn't worth the price. Check-in took nearly 20 minutes before anyone came to the desk. Our first room was tiny and dirty, with mold on the ceiling and chipping paint. The heat didn't work, which was unacceptable in winter. The employee apologized, said he couldn't fix it, and moved us to a larger deluxe room. That room was still dirty and poorly maintained. There was no body wash, and although we asked the desk twice and were told it would be brought up, it never arrived. Friends staying there ran into problems too. Some found dirty rooms, one couple had a broken door lock and put a chair against the door at night to feel safe, and another friend had no hot water. We also reported a broken water pipe near our room. The staff seemed unconcerned and showed no urgency, which was unsettling. At checkout, an unfriendly attendant charged us almost $1,000 by mistake for the wrong room. Sorting it out took extra time and frustration. The area is great and has plenty to do, but the hotel falls short on cleanliness, comfort, service, and value. We wouldn't stay again or recommend it.

The staff were really nice, and our small, casual room was fine for the night. We drove from PA and stayed at The Shore Club to celebrate our friend's 50th birthday. The entry makes a lovely first impression, with plants all around and a beautiful chandelier. They host lots of weddings and parties; there was a wedding during our stay, and everyone seemed happy and having fun.

The Shore Club gave us the spaces we wanted for our wedding, from the ceremony and cocktail hour rooms to the reception ballroom, bridal suite, and guest rooms. The package included a cocktail hour guests raved about, signature drinks, the cake, and a late night snack. The lobby bar stays open late, so we didn't need to pay for an after party. Staff members Penny and Heidi were attentive and helped the day go smoothly. Chelsea, and later Dorina, answered all our questions and made sure our concerns were addressed. They set up our decor and also offer beautiful decor and centerpieces. Our one disappointment came after the room block filled. We still had guests who wanted to stay, but learned other rooms had been reserved for the next day's wedding. It didn't seem fair, though several nearby boutique and chain hotels could accommodate our guests. Aside from that, we couldn't have asked for a better experience, and we'd highly recommend The Shore Club.
