Travelodge by Wyndham Dexter

The bed was super comfortable, as always. I've stayed at this location before. The TV service barely worked during this visit, though, so I had to find other ways to pass the time.

The room looked clean, but there was a damp, swimming pool locker room kind of smell, like moisture had built up somewhere. This was my second stay here. On the previous visit, I booked a queen room and the shower didn't work. This time I booked online at 11:00 p.m. and was told I'd get a queen bed. I received a payment confirmation that required me to download an app, but when I arrived, somehow my card and confirmation were declined. Online, the booking used a virtual card number, though it was the same credit card I gave them. I ended up with a king bed, but the desk clerk said they couldn't give me a room key and would have to let me in and out manually. After charging my card, he told me to take the elevator to the second floor and have the housekeeper let me in, so I stood there waiting for him to show me the room and get me inside. It cost $110. If you book online, I'd call the front desk first to check that they'll provide what was promised and ask whether you'll get a room key.

The room was clean and comfortable. Getting to the entrance is a bit awkward because the parking lot sits between the road and the hotel.

The attached dinner place has good food at any time of day, and the customer service is great. Everything looks nice, new, and clean after the recent renovation. My only negative is that there's no free hot breakfast.
